Eli's Army
The Internet, sadly, may be killing newspapers, but it's sure connecting us to all of you. On this thankfully light news day (see Steph's post below), I'd like to say a word about the blog. When Stephanie started it during her pregnancy, in the cheeky voice of our unborn baby, we of course had no idea that months later it would become a daily chronicle of our premature son's health and our attendant fears and joys. Or that it would produce a wellspring of support for Eli in places near and far, including from people we haven't seen in years or, in some cases, have never met. Your positive energy lifts us, and even without consciously trying, we pass it on to Eli every day. Although we'd never choose to be in this situation, there are some wonderful benefits to going through it. Realizing what a wide support group we have is certainly one of them.

And it is such a deep connection – I hesitate to say blessing, but there it is – that you are giving all of us. Thank you for letting us be there, in whatever small way we can. And a deep thanks - aka love – to Eli. We're behind you, little man.
Oh my . . . visited Eli again today after three weeks absence. He is gloriously pretty, plump, and peaceful! The picture of perfection and, upon waking after his nap, wide-eyed for listening and looking around. Kangarooing while mom and grandma visited about him was pure pleasure! (I think for him, and I know for me!! :-) Life is good. Grandma Cam
Thank you so much for allowing your family and friends to share in Eli's progress. We all care so much. I let out a cheer when Eli topped two pounds. This blog is so much better than calling for information. Much love to the three of you. Aunt Barbara
Another soldier in Eli's army reporting in here--I think of him every day and you two also (goes without saying but I say it anyway!) of course, and so look forward to seeing Eli in person. I plan to be in NYC --for THIS VERY REASON--May 6,7,8. Staying at Sheraton NY with ABi & Alexandria and will connect with your folks and you about best timing for a visit.
Invincible scrappy Eli! Hooray!!!
Love, Paulann
Dearest Eli, Steph and Paul, Groton Town Council business has made me AWOL but I am back! What great news to see the April 6 posting and whopping weight gain great-hearted Eli has mustered
already. What a marvelous new verb-kangarooing-I visualized it instantly. So looking forward to seeing HIMSELF in person next month. Will check in soon to learn best date and time for Abi and me to meet Eli (and hug Mom and Daddy) in situ, May 6,7 or 8.
Love,
Paulann
